We start the year off here with a top 25 rank team on the road. Big Ten vs AAC (American Athletic Conference) matchup. Wisconsin comes into this game ranking 19th and USF being unranked. Despite last year opening the season being ranked 21st in the nation. Should be a great game to kick off in Tampa, FL.

These two teams haven’t played each other since 2014. When the badgers came out on top 27-10. This number opened up at -10 and we see a lot of early betting from the public by a solid margin. Look for this number to climb slightly and hit -14 in some betting markets.
USF Bulls- The Bulls open their season at home in Raymond James Stadium. Last year they had a disappointing end to their season. Starting the year going 7-0 then ending in a 0-6 slump. Former Gators QB Kerwin Bell comes in as the new OC from being the HC at Valdosta State. His style of offense is to play fast and score fast which should be a good fit for the Bulls. That brings us to the defense, which still leaves a big question mark. Their last five games they gave up 41,35,27,38 and 38. Last season at home ATS USF went 1-6. Although the program is on a five game winning streak against Power Five programs and is 8-1 in its last nine going back to 2015. This year on offense they will have nine returning starters. One of them being Blake Barnett who is a veteran QB for the Bulls. USF will attempt to keep things moving and don’t let the Badgers dominate on the clock. They have a tough task ahead of them.
Wisconsin Badgers- The Badgers are coming off a 8-5 win season. While going 4-9 ATS. This will be the third season in a row they open their season on a Friday. UW has a great RB in Jonathan Taylor who led the NCAA in both rushing yards (2,194) and rushing attempts (307). Ultimately the biggest question for this team is the QB position.
It’s going to come down to Jack Coan and Graham Merton. Coan has five games under his belt, including a bowl game. Mertz on the other hand is a top QB prospect who had offers from Alabama, Clemson and Georgia. Mertz might have the upper hand in this one. I expect whoever is at QB it shouldn’t matter all too much as long as Jonathan Taylor is in the ball game. Look for them to utilize him tiring out the Bulls weak defense. Then later in the game start to attack their DBs.
