Kemp has an on-base percentage of .578 so far this year, and he has already stolen seven bases. Many experts believe he is the real wild card for this team, so if he keeps it up this is a Dodgers team that could surprise in the National League West. Rafael Furcal broke his thumb in the first game of this series, and the Dodgers will definitely miss him while he is on the disabled list. Ted Lilly hasn’t been great in his first two starts this year, but he has minimized the damage in both starts.
The San Francisco Giants are struggling to put runs on the board so far this season. Guys like Pat Burrell and Aubrey Huff aren’t coming through in their key spots so far this year. Pablo Sandoval has started the season out red hot, and if he can keep it up that is a terrific sign for the Giants. San Francisco still has one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball. Lincecum and Cain are extremely tough to beat, and the rest of the rotation is solid. Jonathan Sanchez was good in his last start against the Cardinals, and the Giants need him to improve on his career numbers tonight.
