Episode number eight of the Hunter Sports Picks Betting Breakdown is here. This week we are discussing week 7 college football and week 6 NFL action.
College Football Rapid Recap (1:10)
There weren’t many changes in the polls from last week, because week six was a rather tame one in college football. That won’t be the case in week seven! There are elite matchups all over the place, and a big shakeup is likely.
Cal and Utah played a really sloppy game last weekend, and Cal’s six turnovers ended up being the difference.
Steve Sarkisian is out at USC. Who will USC go after next? This is one of the best jobs in the country, and I expect them to land a big name.
Steve Spurrier had a great run, but he called it quits this week. South Carolina’s program needed a change now, but he did great work with the Gamecocks.
College Football Betting Bulletpoints (3:12)
A ton of great betting bulletpoints this week. What do I make of Florida’s quarterback situation after Will Grier was suspended? Florida shouldn’t be written off.
Nick Chubb’s injury clearly hurts Georgia, but remember the depth this team has at running back. I have several other injury notes in this podcast that you’ll want to hear before placing your bets.
Michigan hasn’t allowed a point in three games, and the Wolverines have given up 14 points in their last five games combined! The Wolverines host Michigan State this week.
I revisit North Texas, a team I told you to fade a few weeks ago. They did so poorly that they haven’t covered a number all year, and now their coach was fired.
Which teams are still unbeaten against the spread? They are both from the MAC. Five teams are winless ATS this year. Who are they? Tune in.
Boston College and Wake Forest played in a wild finish on Saturday. Learn what happened inside and I have a note about Boston College that’s important to remember.
The Toledo Rockets haven’t allowed a sack so far this year!
Who is the least penalized team and who is the most penalized team through six weeks? Find out inside.
College Football Game Breakdown (8:40)
This week I go in-depth breaking down the Alabama at Texas A&M contest. This is one of the best matchups of the weekend. I have a strong lean here on the side. Hear who I like and why I like them inside this episode.
NFL Rapid Recap (12:05)
Cincinnati’s big comeback win over the Seattle Seahawks is definitely a change for a team like the Bengals. Cincinnati kept fighting and finished off the Seahawks in impressive fashion. Tyler Eifert is the biggest difference for this offense.
Jamaal Charles went down with an injury last week, and then the Chiefs lost the game in stunning fashion. I don’t see how Kansas City recovers without their playmaker.
I talk about perception of both Denver and New England in this segment as well, and give a note of caution.
NFL Betting Bulletpoints (14:00)
Who is converting the most often on third down? Which teams are having trouble on third down?
Denver leads the NFL with 14 takeaways. Detroit has the most turnovers at 15. Not surprisingly, the Broncos are unbeaten and the Lions are winless.
I look at several key injuries to keep track of throughout the week in this segment.
Add net punting average to your normal handicapping research. This is a statistic that is overlooked by many, but field position plays a big role in who wins and covers.
The over has cashed in 38 times and the under has cashed in 38 times so far this season.
NFL Game Breakdown (16:50)
This week I’m talking about the Panthers vs. Seahawks matchup. Here is where we find out if the Panthers are a contender or a pretender. Can Seattle find a way to get Jimmy Graham involved? I’m not convinced either of these offenses can have much success in this game.
Exclusive Podcast Pick (18:41)
I’m 2-1-1 so far this year on the podcast picks. Totals are my specialty and I love under the radar totals in college football. The podcast pick this week is one of those under the radar NCAA FB totals. Tune in and hear this play!
