The Houston Rockets are coming off a difficult overtime loss in Los Angeles last night. The Rockets showed their gritty style of play by pushing the Lakers to the brink, but they were unable to finish the deal. The Rockets head to Salt Lake City today to take on an undermanned Utah Jazz team that has been sliding of late.
Houston Keys to Winning:
The Houston Rockets need to get to the free throw line often if they expect to win this game. Kevin Martin is great at drawing fouls, as he showed last night against the Lakers. Houston needs Kyle Lowry and Aaron Brooks to be a little more productive from the point guard position. Shane Battier has been slumping with his shot of late, and if he could heat up it would really help this team.
Utah Jazz Keys to Winning:
It will be tough for Utah tonight without Deron Williams, Okur, and Kirilenko. They’ll need solid production from their young backcourt, and they’ll definitely need guys like Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap to dominate down low. I expect Jerry Sloan to run a lot of plays for Jefferson and Millsap in this game. Utah will need to play solid defense to keep Houston out of the lane and off the charity stripe.

Utah has slowed the tempo down in a big way without Williams on the floor, and tonight they’ll miss AK47 as well. The Rockets are on the second end of a back-to-back so they will likely be tired. I like this one to stay under the posted total!
