I like Mendenhall’s chances to get more than 76 yards in this one. Green Bay’s pass defense is one of the best in the NFL, but their rushing defense is no better than average. Pittsburgh will do their best to keep Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense off the field. I think the Steelers will be trying their best to assert the running game here. Super Bowl 45 Prop Picks: Packers Team Rushing Yards Under 76.5
This prop bet is available at Sportsbook.com and I really like the chances of this one to cash in. Pittsburgh has by far the best defense in the NFL against the run. Green Bay is all about the passing attack, and they’ll be airing it out early and often in this one. The Steelers front seven is extremely talented, and I just don’t think the Packers will be able to run the ball effectively at all in this game.
Super Bowl 45 Prop Picks: Greg Jennings Receiving Yards Over 82.5
As I said before, I believe the Packers will air it out in this game, and I think they’ll have quite a bit of success, especially between the 20’s. Greg Jennings is a deep threat and I think he has the potential to catch a 40 plus yarder at some point in this one. I’ll take my chances with the over on Jennings reception yards.
Super Bowl 45 Prop Picks: Mentions of Brett Favre During the Game Over 2.5 Times
This will be my “silly prop” bet for the year. It is hard to imagine Fox not mentioning Favre’s name at least three times here. Aaron Rodgers was in the shadows behind Favre for quite some time, and they’ll definitely want to mention that more than once. Several books have this one available, and it has been juiced up to -190 or so at most shops, but I think it is worth it. Take the over and expect to hear his name at least three or four times.
