Oklahoma City Thunder (54-26 SU, 42-37-1 ATS) vs. Sacramento Kings (24-56 SU, 37-41-2 ATS)
NBA Betting Favorite: Thunder -5.5
Over/Under: 208.5
If you didn’t see the Thunder’s big win over the Lakers on Sunday night, you missed a terrific effort from Oklahoma City. It was a playoff type atmosphere in Staples Center, and the young Thunder came out on top. The Kings also picked up a win last night in Golden State, and Sacramento is a team that has been playing better basketball over the last few weeks. Tonight these two will meet in Sacramento.
Oklahoma City is battling hard to move up in the Western Conference standings. They definitely have a chance of moving up to at least the #3 seed, and they could possibly move as high as the second seed in the West. Sunday night’s game in Los Angeles showed just how much talent Oklahoma City has. Ten players played at least 13 minutes in the big win, and once Nate Robinson returns from injury this team will have an 11 man rotation. James Harden has been great off the bench since the All-Star break. Kevin Durant is heating up as the season comes to a close. Russell Westbrook continues to emerge as a star in this league.
Sacramento deserves some credit for playing hard to the end this year. The Kings have actually won three of their last five games overall. While most people didn’t notice it, the acquisition of Marcus Thornton has been a great one for the Kings. Thornton has scored more than 20 points in five of the Kings last ten games. Tyreke Evans is healthy again, and he gives this team a high quality point guard. The Kings struggle defensively, and they settle for too many three-pointers. It appears this team will be moving in the offseason, and I think they’ll be some major changes on the roster in the offseason as well.
Thunder vs. Kings NBA Free Pick: Thunder -5.5
The Kings have been playing harder of late, but I don’t think they matchup well against Oklahoma City. Kendrick Perkins gives this Thunder team the solid rebounder they need to keep the Kings off the offensive glass. I expect the Thunder to take care of business tonight.
